The Spirit of a Great Vintage
The 2016 Millésime from Maison Collet is a "bespoke" cuvée that embodies the mastery of the Champagne terroir. Despite a demanding growing season, the careful selection of grapes at peak maturity has resulted in a dynamic, balanced, and remarkably fine Champagne.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: A luminous golden robe, enhanced by a fine, lively, and persistent effervescence.
Nose: A delicate and complex bouquet revealing notes of gingerbread, vanilla, and quince compote, all supported by a great sense of freshness.
Palate: A dynamic attack leading to a beautiful saline tension. It features the vivacity of citrus (lime) and the delicate tang of gooseberry.
Terroir at the Heart of the Blend
This vintage draws its strength from a mosaic of prestigious crus:
Aÿ & Ambonnay: Provide power, ripe fruit, and fine spices through the Pinot Noir.
Avize & Chouilly: Offer a chiseled structure, citrus notes, and a marked chalky tension.
Mailly-Champagne & Villers-Marmery: Complete the blend with a singular minerality and a straight, structured profile.
Food & Wine Pairing
This characterful Champagne is the perfect companion for seafood.
Perfect pairings: Fresh oysters, pan-seared scallops, or noble fish dishes.
Service: Best enjoyed between 8°C and 10°C (46°F - 50°F).
